How AI skin analysis works
Ackleom turns three photos and your written concerns into a cosmetic skin report. This guide explains how AI skin analysis works in the current app, what the report includes, and what to consider before sending photos.
How AI skin analysis works, step by step
- Describe your focus. Choose or write the cosmetic concerns you want to understand. You can add one optional question for the report.
- Add front, left, and right photos. Basic checks for resolution, lighting, and blur run in your browser. Use the skin analysis photo guide to prepare consistent images.
- Read the consent notice. Ticking consent starts server photo checks for photos you have already added. Photos added after consent are checked too. Server requests save cleaned photos on our server.
- Create your report. The server validates the images and checks face visibility before requesting a cosmetic assessment through OpenRouter and its AI model provider.
- Review the observations and routine ideas. The report appears in your browser after processing. Your submitted answers, photos, result, and any optional video are saved privately on our server.
What is included in the cosmetic report?
The report considers visible appearance, including texture, tone, shine, fine lines, and other supported cosmetic features. It includes concern-specific observations, face-zone notes where available, ingredient ideas, and morning and evening routine suggestions. Some scores can be unavailable when an image does not support a useful estimate.
The report is free, subject to usage limits. No account is required. You need JavaScript and a modern browser to upload images and interact with the report. Premium checkout is not open yet.
How should I interpret a skin score?
A score is an estimate of appearance in the submitted images, not a clinical measurement. Lighting, camera processing, makeup, angle, and image quality can change the result. A photograph cannot establish a medical diagnosis or measure internal hydration, circulation, or tissue elasticity.
Use the observations as a starting point for cosmetic questions. For a medical concern or a change that worries you, consult a qualified clinician. The app does not replace an in-person examination.
What happens to my photos and answers?
Before consent, the browser checks photos locally. After consent, server checks save re-encoded photos with embedded metadata removed. Report submissions also save your written answers and the returned report. Closing or refreshing the page clears the browser view, but it does not delete server history.
Records currently remain until manual deletion. Read the privacy policy and deletion contact information before consenting. Optional videos are saved as uploaded and validated for file type and size; video analysis is not available yet.
