Skin analysis photo guide
Use this skin analysis photo guide to prepare the front, left, and right views required by Ackleom. Consistent lighting, a visible face, and a steady camera help the app assess the appearance shown in your photos.
Skin analysis photo guide: the three required views
- Front: look straight at the camera with a neutral expression. Keep your face centered and avoid cutting off the forehead or chin.
- Left: turn about 45 degrees to your own left so the cheek and jawline are visible. Keep the same camera distance and lighting as the front view.
- Right: turn about 45 degrees to your own right. Match the framing and light from the other two photos.
Choose even light and clear framing
- Face a window or place a light in front of you. Avoid strong backlighting, harsh flash, and deep shadows across the face.
- Hold the camera steady and tap to focus on your face. Retake a blurred or washed-out image.
- Keep hair and objects away from the areas you want to assess. Use a single visible face in each photo.
- Avoid beauty filters or retouching that change visible skin appearance. Makeup and camera processing can also affect the observations.
- Use the same distance, light, and expression across all three views. Differences between photos can make appearance harder to compare.
Supported image files and sizes
The current app accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP photos up to 10 MB each. Aim for at least 600 pixels on the shorter side and keep each dimension at or below 4,096 pixels. If a phone photo is larger, resize a copy before uploading.
You can upload files or use the camera tool when your browser supports it. An optional MP4 or WebM video up to 50 MB can accompany a report, but video is not yet analysed and does not replace the three photos.
What the photo checks mean
Before consent, basic resolution, brightness, and blur checks run in your browser. After consent, the server also checks face visibility and image quality. Blocking issues require a replacement photo; tips point out conditions that may make an assessment less useful.
Passing these checks means the app can attempt an assessment. It does not certify a photograph as clinically accurate or guarantee that every feature can be evaluated.
Before you consent
Ackleom is for adults aged 18 and over. Upload your own photos and read the photo storage and privacy policy. Consented server checks save cleaned photos; a report request also saves your answers and results. There is no automatic deletion period yet.
